A New Hope for Venezuela

The wind seems to be picking up within the turmoil-filled country of Venezuela as news of a new leader rising from the ashes has caught the attention of the West and the international community, and especially Nicola Maduro. If you want to know what's shaking down, here are a few details.

Venezuela is a country on the northeastern part of South America. Ruled by years of Socialist dictators, Venezuela is now seeing its country fall apart daily due to hunger, starvation, famine, and lack of basic necessities. I've written an article before about the details of the origins of this mess so check it out for more information. However, recently a new leader has been elected as the interim president of Venezuela and his name is Juan Guaidó. Juan is now the current president of the National Assembly, the opposition to Maduro and his regime. In the streets of Caracas, protestors have battled with the police and armed forces while Guaidó himself made a remarkable speak calling for free elections and a new government that follows the constitutions of Venezuela. When I heard Juan speaking in front of thousands my body got chills hearing the hope in the crowds' voices and almost wishing I was there to see this first hand.

Maduro in response called for the removal of all US embassy staff members. He gave them 72 hours to gather their things and leave the country without looking back. I've seen both videos of Maduro and Guaidó, and Guaidó's speech attracted much more attention and support than Maduro's. Nicholas most likely hired all those people to show up, making it look like he had thousands of supporters but in reality, almost 90% of the country is fed up with Maduro.

Immediately the White House issued statements, backing Juan Guaidó and recognizing him as the true leader of Venezuela. Colombia was the first Latino country to also recognize Guaidó along with Peru, Chile, Brazil, and Argentina. Sadly, leftist governments like Bolivia and Cuba are firmly against Juan and claim this is a "coup attempt". (Insert eye roll)

This is truly exciting for millions of Venezuelans who are sick and tired of Maduro and failed Socialism in their country. Too many people are deprived of their basic needs like medicines and so forth. Mothers unable to feed their babies, gangs roaming the streets, and even terrorist connections are running rampant under socialist Venezuela. Venezuelans all across the world in places like Spain, Argentina, and the U.S. are all voicing their unwavering support for Juan and The Opposition against Maduro. Unfortunately, Juan doesn't have the military's support..just yet. If he can get his hands of some state facilities then he just might have an even better chance of beating Maduro.

I really hope Juan Guaidó can become the real president of Venezuela. I predict that within two years Maduro will no longer be in power either through military intervention, resistance, sanctions, a coup or simply backing out due to lack of support. If anything new forms, I will be sure to re-edit this. ¡Vaya con Dios Venezuela!
